Working in collaboration with some of Hong Kong's top young designers, exhibitors will present their textiles as finished garments at Interstoff Asia Autumn 2006 under the heading 'Fabric-To-Fashion'.
The show will be held from 4 – 6 October 2006, at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. Perfectly illustrating the different phases of garment production, it allows textile exhibitors to showcase their products as realistically and efficiently as possible.
The way today's fabrics are produced and the applications, for which they are designed, allow fashion designers greater freedom. Advanced textile technology has yielded new aesthetics, tactile qualities and performance capabilities. These developments of new materials and technologies can only be effectively highlighted when the textiles are made into garments. This is why, since its creation in 2003, Fabric-To-Fashion has been a proven success with exhibitors and visitors alike.
Textiles suppliers have their top selling fabrics transformed into unique fashion items by upcoming designers emphasising the individual qualities of each fabrics. Visitors to the show are able to spend time studying how fabrics 'behave' when made into clothing.
"This autumn, things are going to be a little different than in the past. Because it is a fact that fashion starts with fabric, this time, we are going to strongly emphasise the close relationship between designers and textile manufacturers," saidKaty Lam, Director of Trade Fairs for Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd.
