The 10th World Fibres & Feedstocks COnference will be held during October 20-21,2005, at The Regent, Singapore.

Patterns of fibre demand have become very complex this year with many different influences emerging. Current issues that will be addressed at the conference include:

* International textile trade post-quotas are still dependent on final consumer demand and there are signs of disappointing retail figures in the major western markets.

* A slower export performance in volume and pricing is kicking back into China's fibres industry which geared up for a massive increase in volumes in 2005.

* Overcapacity remains a big issue in the polyester industry, keeping the markets structurally weak.

* Disappointing exports, low margins and overcapacity have all taken the edge off fibre demand and are not being absorbed short-term by strong growth.

* Fibres demand is subject to cyclic influence with the global MMF industry still destocking while cotton starts to rebuild.
