SPORT EQUALS FASHION The September 2005 session of TISSU PREMIER presents Future by Tissu Premier, echoing the desire for synergy between innovation and fashion. It is in the world of sport that fashion, design and innovation find common ground. Fashion has borrowed sport's technical, high-performance fabrics and imposed a new style.
It's official: sport and fashion are one. Fashion has given sport its style codes and points of reference inspired by the street. This fusion has produced urbanwear. From sport, fashion has borrowed technical, high-performance fabrics and has imposed activewear as a new lifestyle. Yesterday's sportswear has become today's lifestyle.
This autumn the UK will take centre stage. Following in the footsteps of Jean-Paul Knott and Nathalie Chaize, the British designer Zandra Rhodes is to be the patron of the Designers' Expo. A true icon of the fashion world renowned for her textile designs, she propelled London to the forefront of the international fashion scene by dressing celebrities.
The charmingly eccentric designer of colourful apparel is the founder of the Fashion and Textile Museum in London. Alongside Zandra, a number of young British designers will also be presenting their designs. Talks will include a presentation by the UK research and trend analysis agency WGSN on all types of trends: style, economic, attitudes… Plus a focus on the UK market. 15 British exhibitors have already signed up.
They have teamed up with Eurostar to offer special fare discounts to visitors from the UK. A reception will be held at Lille town hall with the theme 'Lille Fashion Fabrics with a British accent'.
