In the first half (H1) of 2025, China’s consumer price index (CPI) declined by 0.1 per cent year on year (YoY), indicating overall price stability. Clothing prices increased 1.3 per cent.

In June alone, CPI rose 0.1 per cent YoY but fell 0.1 per cent from the previous month. The core CPI (excluding food and energy) grew 0.4 per cent in H1, up 0.1 percentage points from Q1. In June, it increased by 0.7 per cent year on year, up 0.1 points from May, indicating a moderate rebound, according to the National Bureau of Statistics of China.

Producer prices for industrial products fell 2.8 per cent YoY in H1 2025. In June, they declined 3.6 per cent YoY and 0.4 per cent month on month. Purchasing prices for industrial producers dropped 2.9 per cent in H1, and by 4.3 per cent YoY in June.
