Dr Koshy enumerated NID's financial performance over the past five years as yet another area of major turnaround which has been achieved through rationalizing the student's strength, increasing the Consultancy Activities, Outreach and Industry Training Programmes etc.
The Executive Director also briefed about NID's international and global alliances and said that Institute has developed strong educational alliances with many prominent design institutions in the world.
The presence of 15 international students and faculties on campus this time is a clear vindication to that, he said. In order to give NID's education a contemporary edge Institute has also made progress in introducing the 'System of Excellence in Design Education' (SEED) and 'Academic Credit and Evaluation System.' Setting up of the Design R&D Campus at Bangalore is NID's first foray outside Ahmedabad.
The aim was to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to design, to satisfy the complex problems of India's changing environment. This year, NID completes 42 years of distinguished service in design education, design training and design practice.
