Flood-affected farmers in activated areas covered by Toowoomba and Goondiwindi Regional Councils can now access Category C assistance, which includes emergency cash grants for primary producers of up to $25,000, and Category D assistance, which includes a loan-grant package of up to $650,000.
The new activations brings Toowoomba and Goondiwindi in line with other flood-affected areas in Queensland, including the Western Downs, Central Highlands, Rockhampton, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and Logan districts.
“Cotton Australia thanks the efforts of both the Queensland and Australian Governments in extending relief to cotton growers in the Toowoomba and Goondiwindi areas,” says Cotton Australia Policy Manager for Queensland and Water, Michael Murray.
“This additional flood relief will help growers get back on their feet faster, and will greatly help rural communities.”
