Japan-based Sumitomo Chemical has reduced operating rates at its Ehime prefecture located caprolactam (CPL) plant.

“Currently, both the lines of CPL in Ehime are operating at around 70% capacity rates, owing to weak demand fundamentals in the market,” a Sumitomo official told fibre2fashion.

Sumitomo Chemical operates two lines of CPL in Ehime prefecture, Japan, of which line no-1has a production capacity of 85,000 tons per year and line no-2 has capacity of 95,000 tons per annum.
