Italian textile machinery manufacturers to participate at IGATEX 2006

ACIMIT informs that IGATEX 2006 that will be held on April 26th-29th 2006 in Karachi represents an interesting meeting point among Italian textile machinery manufacturers and Pakistani textile operators.

At IGATEX 2006 about 15 Italian textile machinery manufacturers will exhibit, testifying the great attention paid by the Italian companies to the Pakistani market.

The prominent role played by Pakistani textile and clothing sector internationally has made the country one of the world's leading markets for textile machinery. The automation process has involved the spinning and weaving sectors, but also the finishing one.

Italian machines are well-known and much appreciated in Pakistan. In 2005, Italian textile machinery exports toward Pakistan market totalled about Euro 73 million, which confirmed Pakistan as one of the leading market for the Italian textile machinery industry.

In 2005 the most requested Italian machines by Pakistan were spinning machines (46 percent of the total), followed by finishing machines (23 percent) and knitting machines (18 percent).

300 Italian companies (with 23,000 employees) that in 2005 produced machinery for a value of Euro 2,600 million, pay the highest attention to the requests of the textile industry to propose new solutions of innovation, productivity, safety with the utmost satisfaction of their clients.

The complete elimination of import quotas in 2005 has affected Pakistani exports.The improving quality of Pakistani products, in part through investments in production processes, will be a crucial factor for the promotion of local textile and clothing supply in the next future.
