It may be noted from the statement that the variation in the index for various centres ranges from 1.0 to 11.0 percent; with the largest increase being in the case of Imphal and least increase in index number was noticed at Rajkot centre.

The increase is 1.0 to 4.0 percent for 18 centres, 4.1 to 5.0 percent for 7 centres, 5.1 to 7.0 percent for 25 centres and 7.1 percent and above, for 9 centres.

As many as 25 centres have lower annual percentage increase as compared to that of the all-India figure of 5.0 percent and 34 centres have recorded higher percentage increase as compared to the all-India average.
