For the first time ACIMIT, the Association of Italian textile machinery manufacturers, will be at CINTE Shanghai 2006 (September 19th-21st, 2006), supporting some Italian textile machinery manufacturers exhibiting in the Italian Meeting Point (so-called Punto Italia).

In the Italian Meeting Point some Italian technical textiles producers and their Association, TexClubTec, will exhibit too. This is the evidence of a strong cooperation among two actors of the textile/clothing sector.

The sector of technical and innovative textiles is a reality which is gaining more and more importance in terms of size, thanks to the technological features of its products and to its continuous offer of new and promising market niches. In this scenario the solutions provided by Italian manufacturers will be the right answers to the needs of Chinese textile companies involved in the production of technical and innovative textiles.

Italian textile machinery manufacturers follow the development of this sector with keen attention. ACIMIT estimates that over 100 of their member companies operate in the manufacture of specially designed or modified machines for the production of innovative technical textiles and nonwovens. This sector produces a though minimal but steadily growing turnover, accounting for 5 to 10 percent on the total turnover of ACIMIT's member companies.

At the present time China is the leading market for the Italian textile machinery industry, with a share of 17 percent on the total Italian export. In 2005 the Italian exports to the Chinese market reached a value of Euro 316 million, while in the first three months of 2006 the Italian sales in China increased of 19 percent on the same period of 2005.
