SSM College of Eng organizes AFINT 2006 - conference on non wovens & technical textiles

SSM College of Engineering, Komarapalayam, is organising a three day International Conference on “ADVANCES IN FIBROUS MATERIALS, NONWOVEN AND TECHNICAL TEXTILES “ ( AFINT 2006) at Hotel Jenney Club, Coimbatore on 7-9th August 2006 in collaboration with Texas Tech University, Lubbock, USA.
The two world leading professional associations viz., Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) and Association of the Nonwoven Fabric Industry (INDA) are honorary sponsors of this International Conference.
This is the first time ever in India, these two world bodies are joining hands with SSM College of Engineering, Komarapalayam, TN, and Texas Tech University, USA to conduct the first ever International collaborative conference on emerging textiles.
Honourable Union minister of State for Textiles Shri. E.V.K.S. Elangovan has kindly consented to inaugurate the conference. Textile Commissioner Shri J.N. Singh will preside over the function. Mr. C. K. Wong and Mr. Kanti Jasani from USA are representing INDA and AATCC respectively.
Shri. Shekar, Director, DRDE/DRDO will be the Guest of Honour. Mr. Ian Butler, Marketing Director, INDA will deliver the keynote address on “Prospects for the Nonwovens Industry in key global markets and India”
India is emerging as a textile powerhouse with enormous growth opportunities.
