THE 2006 SDC Colour Conference 'Shaping the future of colour…the drive for innovation' on 13 October 2006 marked the official launch of the Society's Colour Accreditation Scheme (CAS) designed to deliver colour consistency across the entire global textile supply chain.

The Society is delighted to announce that Bureau Veritas has been appointed the scheme's lead accreditor and, following a successful trial, that Tesco, one of the world's leading retailers with over 2500 stores worldwide, has agreed to implement the unique Colour Accreditation Scheme.

Tesco endorse SDC CAS
Comments Alan Wragg of Tesco Clothing, 'Colour accreditation is important to Tesco in our mission to continuously improve product quality for customers and reduce the time taken to develop new products.

The SDC scheme, coupled with a set of realistic Tesco performance requirements, will provide the basis for our suppliers to self-approve their own colour work without our intervention.'

'With an accreditation in place we can be confident in our suppliers' ability and they, in turn, can be confident of producing colours that will meet our requirements.'

SDC CAS allows organisations to take control of colour and unlock the potential of their textile supply chain. Delivering colour consistency from concept to completion across the entire chain, it shortens lead times, reduces costs and safeguards quality and brand integrity.

CAS converts colour creativity into colour certainty
