The day was rounded-off with the Gala Awards Dinner, sponsored by VeriVide, where colour technology embraced both innovation and creativity as the winners of the SDC competitions for 2006 were announced.
The 2006 Perkin Innovation Award went to Dr Ram Sabnis CCol (USA) for his breakthrough invention in colour-change technology that led to the creation of the world's first coloured bubbles.
The winners of the fashion/textile category of the 2006 SDC Colour in Design competition, sponsored by Marks and Spencer, were Victoria Stone (undergraduate, London College of Fashion) and Alice Palmer (postgraduate, the Royal College of Art).
In the graphics category, the winner was Sydney Nakashima (undergraduate, Louisiana State University, USA).
