“The seminars allowed us to interact closely and build networks with the world's leading retailers and assist them with their requirements including supply chains, yarn sourcing, technology and other developments."

"Educational workshops such as these will build the profile of Australian Merino wool and increase the awareness of the valuable benefits only Australian Merino fibre can offer the fashion apparel customers” said Ms Kam.

Companies including Donna Karen, Calvin Klein, Raymonds India, Monte Carlo, Chairman of the Bangladesh Textiles Expo Assocation, Tokyo Style, Polo Ralph Lauren, Ann Taylor, Gap, Timberland, Otto, Uny Co Japan, Marks & Spencer and more attended the seminars.

The seminars in Japan, Hong Kong, Bangladesh and India are important for AWI to continue building direct business relationships and educating leaders in the manufacturing and design areas.

Bangladesh is the second biggest supplier of all knit products to the EU, following China and Japan is one of the most valuable fashion apparel markets in the world.

“AWI is continuing to produce interesting and high-quality products which are in response to demand being shown by buying offices, sourcing agents, manufacturers, designers, and retailers” said Ms Kam.

Retailer seminars coordinated by AWI are implemented to achieve a strong awareness and presence for Australian Merino wool within growing and influential markets across the globe.
