Nuance-Watson (HK) bags Airport/Land-Based Retailer of Year award

At yesterday's Frontier Awards Night held in Cannes, Nuance-Watson (Hong Kong) won the industry's highest accolade by being named “Airport/Land-Based Retailer of the Year”.

At the same event, Downtown Duty Free, The Nuance Group's Australian subsidiary, was highly commended for the “Best Website Award.

For the first time ever, participants in the “Airport/Land-Based Retailer of the Year” category needed to be nominated by an industry vote first, with the short-list subsequently being assessed by the judges.

According to those familiar with the voting process, the voting formula made the award much more hard-earned than in the past.

In its entry, Nuance-Watson (Hong Kong) quantified its remarkable performance in terms of sales growth, increase of transactions as well as productivity gains through benchmarking.

It also underlined how its strategic portfolio of 42 stores in no less than 14 operating licenses has enabled Nuance-Watson to meet travellers' needs at every stage of the boarding, transit and disembarkation process.

Other aspects such as the company's customer-led approach; its innovative, instantly identifiable store concepts; its lead in introducing ground-breaking retail concepts, special promotions, new launches of brands and products; its heavy investments in technology, facilities and people; and last but not least its commitment to partner with Airport Authority, brand partners, industry players and the social community at large all spoke in favour of Nuance-Watson (Hong Kong).
