The Nomination and Remuneration Committee of the Australian Wool Services Limited (AWS) Board has met and recommended that New South Wales woolgrower and communications expert, Robbie Sefton, fill the vacancy left by Trevor Flugge's retirement.

Ms Sefton and her husband, Alistair Yencken, own and operate a wool, meat and grains property outside Coonabarabran. Robbie is also the founder and principal of a national public relations and marketing consultancy, Sefton & Associates, which is based in Gunnedah.

“We are very pleased to be able to announce Robbie as the AWS Board's newest designate member,” says AWS Chairman, Mr Barry Walker.

“She represents the best of the 'new generation' wool grower – she is forward thinking, commercially astute and well connected.”

Robbie was the 2002 RIRDC NSW Rural Woman of the Year, is a graduate of the prestigious Australian Rural Leadership program and the AICD Company Director's Course.

She currently sits on the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation Board, is a member of the Rural Women's Advisory Council (which reports directly to Australian Government's Minister for Transport and Regional Services) and has recently been appointed to the NSW Australia Day Council Board.

Mr Walker says that Robbie's expertise in communications will bring a welcome addition to the Board's skills mix.

Her communications consultancy has earned a reputation for providing top quality public relations and marketing support to a wide range of corporate and government clients, especially those who wish to communicate with primary producers and people who influence rural policy.
