The general assembly of the Fibre Institute Bremen took place on June 25, 2007, with the aim to constitute the newly-created Board of Trustees. This meeting was followed by the first session of the Board and the election of its new chairman and vice-chairman as well as the appointment of the new Board of Directors of the Institute.
These sessions had been caused by the amendment of the statutes of the Institute in December 2006. According to the new bylaws the former Advisory Board had to be substituted by a Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees now consists statutorily of five “born” and at least three elected members. The born members will be named by (named members in parentheses): • The Dean of the University Bremen Mrs. Professor Dr. Angelika Bunse-Gerstner) • The Executive Director of the Bremen Cotton Exchange (Mr. Jan B. Wellmann) • The Managing Director of the Industrial Association for Yarns, Fabrics and Technical Textiles, IVGT (Mr. Dr. Klaus-Jürgen Kraatz) • The Senator for Education and Science (Mr. Dr. Walter Dörhage) and • The Chamber of Commerce Bremen (Mr. Dr. Detlef Müller-Wiesner)
The following three members were elected for the Board of Trustees during the general meeting; each one without any counterpart. • Mr. Dr. Harald Ludanek, Manager of the Complete Vehicle Development at Volkswagen, VW AG • Mr. Dr. Jens Walla, Plant Manager of Airbus, Bremen and • Mr. Dr. Bernd Wohlmann, Manager of Development of Toro-Tenax Europe, Wuppertal
