SINGER brand is gateway to world of sewing, says SVP CEO

SVP Worldwide owner of SINGER brand sewing machines the world leader in the sewing machine and accessories industry, announced the SINGER brand was officially recognized as an American Icon in the new American Benchmark Press/Random House book “Icons of the American Marketplace: Consumer Brand Excellence.”
“The SINGER name has been synonymous with sewing and reliability since 1851,” said Don Fletcher, CEO of SVP Worldwide. “Today, the SINGER brand continues its awe-inspiring century and half legacy that began in the United States."

“The SINGER brand is the gateway to the world of sewing,” says Fletcher. The SINGER sewing machine, was the first home appliance so admired that it was awarded a first prize at the World's Fair in Paris its first year on the market.
In 1975, the SINGER brand produced the world's first electronic sewing machine, the ATHENA 2000, and three years later the TOUCHTRONIC 2001, the world's first computer-controlled machine.
The SINGER brand again made history with the world's most advanced home sewing and embroidery machine: the QUANTUM XL-5000. This year the SINGER brand introduced the world's first sewing machine for beginners that was designed by beginning sewers the SINGER INSPIRATION sewing machine.
Last month the SINGER brand introduced the new SINGER FUTURA line of all-in-one sewing and embroidery machines that embroider by themselves when connected to a PC through a USB port.
