The Wright brothers used a SINGER machine to sew on the wings of the world's first airplane. Mahatma Gandhi described the SINGER sewing machine as “One of the few useful things ever invented.”

The Statue of Liberty is believed to be the likeness of Isabella Singer, wife to Isaac Merritt Singer, founder of SINGER Sewing Company.

In 1908 the Singer Building in New York City was the first skyscraper and tallest building in the world. In 1968, it became the tallest building to be demolished, to make way for the World Trade Center complex.

“SINGER sewing machines make sewing simple and easy,” said Brad Hunsaker, Global Vice President of Sales and Marketing for SVP Worldwide.

“Throughout its prominent history, the SINGER brand has maintained its commitment to the values of quality, reliability, innovation, and service that were established by the company's founder, Isaac Merritt Singer.”

Compiled by a distinguished panel of scholars, corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, visionaries, and tastemakers, The American Benchmark Press Advisory Board carefully selected the iconic brands profiled in this historic work.

The Publisher states, “The stories and images contained in this colorful and informative volume are a testament to the vital role brands play in American life.”
