There's a growing awareness towards the more innovative fields in the textile and garments sector, such as technical textiles, which by now represent 40% of Europe's textile production. Reliability and creativity are the hallmarks of Made in Italy machinery, combined to achieve an increasingly higher technology standard.

“In this process,” points out Banfi, “Italian textile machinery sector has benefited from years of close cooperation with European textile companies. Research conducted with the aim of discovering increasingly innovative products joins Italian textile machinery manufacturers and European textile producers in providing unparalleled excellence.”

Held every four years, European edition of ITMA is an ideal showcase which pushes Italian machinery manufacturers to present their latest achievements in technology. The event generates a great deal of excitement to find out what innovations have been applied to the sector, and visitors' expectations this year will certainly not be disappointed. Banfi says, “As the event's slogan says, for eight days Munich will be The place of innovation.”

“There's no doubt,” goes on President of ACIMIT, “that over the years Asia has stepped up its demand over the total production of textile machinery on a global scale (over 50%). But what's also true is that European markets, and Western markets in general, are of fundamental importance for the development and definition of new production technologies.”
