Premier Spinning and Weaving Mill relies on Monforts finishing equipment for its fine count reputation and leads the way for E Control continuous dyeing lines.

Premier Spinning and Weaving Mills (PSW), formerly Premier Mills Ltd, was one of the first companies to react upon the gap in India's market in respect of integrated weaving and fabric processing facilities.

The company is part of the Premier Mills Group based in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, and now has a vertically-integrated plant with state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in spinning, weaving, dyeing, printing and finishing.

Located in Bagalur near Hosur, close to Bangalore, PSW has 50,000 spindles, 300 looms and a daily finishing capacity of 100,000 m.

“Integration and specialisation in fine counts are our key strengths, but we are also able to accommodate short runs of a wide range of different substrates,” says executive director Rohit Rajendran.

Products include bleached fabrics, yarn dyed shirting, prints, poplins, dobbies, bottom weights, satins and voiles for both exports as well as garment manufacturers in India.

“We also manufacture branded blouse material, dhotis – the unstitched rectangular pieces of cloth popular for Indian apparel – and uniform fabrics for the domestic market which are sold over the counter,” Mr Rajendran said.

Products include 100% cotton, 100% polyester, polyester/viscose, polyester/cotton and micro modal.

“Ourspecialty is products utilising 2 ply fine count cotton yarn which we spin internally,” Mr Rajendran, “as well as the quality of our prints.”
