Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) partner, Berkeley Apparel has announced its latest innovation, the Money Market Suit.

Berkeley Apparel was founded in 1907 by Polish immigrant Joseph Cohen, and remains a market pioneer after 100 years. Cohen received his tailoring training in London's West-End and the brand remains true to his philosophy of quality and style.

Berkley Apparel distributes approximately 100,000 suits a year to Australia and New Zealand. 95 per cent of their brands are created from luxurious Australian Merino wool. The Money Market Suit is part of the Studio Italia range and offers an extremely fashionable, high-quality product for a moderate cost.

“The Money Market Suit is targeted at Generation Xers who have the money to spend but want products that are in sync with their lifestyle; they want suits that work for them, seven days a week, night and day,” said Robert Morris, Marketing Director of Berkeley Apparel.

“We wanted to launch a product that appeals to this technologically aware, discerning and fashion savvy consumer.”

The suit is tailored so that it can be worn for formal occasions, but still carry some individual flair with a choice shirt or tie. The traditional tailoring lies in its hand-picked edges, chalk stripe and an optional vest.

Another drawing feature of the suit is that it is made of Super 100's – a pure wool woven fabric of less than 18.75 microns; approximately one quarter the width of the average human hair.

An advertising campaign will accompany Berkeley Apparel's distribution into 200 Australian and 25 New Zealand specialty stores.
