Woolgrowers around Australia will be receiving an information pack in coming days, containing material on the election of directors to the Board of Australian Wool Innovation (AWI), and the Company's Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The AGM will be held at 2.00pm on Wednesday 14 November 2007, at the Kardinia Heights Centre, Bell Post Hill near Geelong, Victoria.
The election of directors will take place at the AGM. In accordance with the AWI Constitution, three Directors will retire at the AGM to create the vacancies to be contested.
Directors Dr Kevin Bell, Mr Hugh Nivison and Mr Peter Sykes are retiring, but have all advised they will be seeking re-election.
In addition, valid nominations have been received and accepted from Mr Roger Fletcher, Mr Charles Olsson and Mr Robert Pietsch.
The AWI AGM polling is contracted to Link Market Services, a professional share register and returning officer company, which also conducts AGMs for Commonwealth Bank, Qantas, Coles Group, Bluescope, Westpac, TABCorp and Telstra.
The election processes have been, and will be, audited externally by PricewaterhouseCoopers.
In the information pack being distributed this week, AWI shareholders will receive proxy voting forms, a notice of the AGM and information on each of the candidates for the Board. Shareholders unable to attend in person will be able to vote by proxy via post, fax or the Internet.
Proxy forms must be returned to Link Market Services by 2pm on Monday, 12 November 2007.
