ITMA Europe, the international textile machinery trade fair, was held in Munich (Germany) for the first time on September 13-20, 2007. The ITMA was an attractive rendezvous for textile industry specialists, featuring many innovations focusing on high performance, quality and lower production costs.

Many exhibitors and visitors described ITMA 07 as the best ITMA Europe to date. It was also a very satisfactory event for Rieter Textile Systems, giving this leading systems supplier an opportunity to set new, world-beating standards.

The numbers were very good, too: 1 450 exhibitors welcomed 118 000 visitors from 149 countries. Never before in the history of this event, which goes back more than 50 years, have there been so many visitors from so many different countries. Germany headed the rankings for visitor numbers, followed by Italy, India, Turkey, Brazil, France, Switzerland, Spain, Iran and Belgium.

Successful Rieter Textile Systems
Rieter Textile Systems, based in Winterthur (Switzerland), was also satisfied with the results of the ITMA 2007. Peter Gnägi, CEO Rieter Textile Systems, commented: “We welcomed about 1 000 visitors to our booth. The official visitor figures also confirmed our impression that the fair in Munich attracted specialists from the entire textile industry."

"Our visitors came primarily from India, Turkey, Pakistan, South America and the Near and Middle East, while China and Southeast Asia were rather under-represented. Although Rieter focuses on dialog with customers at trade fairs, specific projects were also discussed and sales contracts concluded. On the whole Rieter is therefore very satisfied with the fair."

"We want to take this opportunity to thank the promoters and the organization for their outstanding work. We're sure that the attractions of the city of Munich made a significant contribution to this success.”
