In recent years, the bilateral trade shows a healthy growth trend and the total trade between India and Australia during 2006-07 was US $ 7932.79 million as compared to US $ 5769.14 million during 2005-06 showing a growth of 37.5%.
Major items of India's exports to Australia are: gems & jewellery, manufactures of metals, machinery & instruments, cotton yarn, fabrics, made-ups etc, while India's imports from Australia are: gold, coal, coke & briquettes, Metalifers ores and metal scrap.
