Compared to the general trend in textiles, Trevira CS business is showing positive development and stands at the good level of 2004. With new developments in its yarns and fabrics, Trevira continues to invest in securing for its customers a decisive lead over their competitors. This is supported by further extending operations outside the European field.
With their booming construction industries, Eastern Europe and the Middle East are at present new target markets for the company and Trevira is adopting a twin approach to heighten awareness of the brand. On the one side they are building up contacts with local weavers and dealers, taking necessary steps with test institutes and laying down lines of communication. At the same time the company is developing projects to be carried through in conjunction with Western European customers.
In Eastern Europe Trevira was represented last year at Heimtextil Rossija, where they operated a large stand working jointly with customers. Twenty of these were involved, taking the opportunity to present their collections in a fresh market. This year the company is arranging a seminar to take the informational side of the campaign further. This aims to provide information on Trevira CS, design trends and on fire protection legislation. It will in addition offer a platform for European weavers and dealers from the C.I.S. states to establish business contacts.
In the Middle East a further joint project is being launched at the Index Fair in Dubai, which is intended to smooth the path for Trevira CS partners into this market.
