Viscose filament yarns exports up during Aug - SRTEPC

The export data has been compiled from the daily list of Customs of major Sea and Air Ports of India except for Cochin Port and Vishakapatnam Port.

- Polyester Filament yarn and Acrylic Spun Yarn exports were down sharply by 54 percent and 68 percent respectively.

- Exports of Polyester Wool and Nylon Filament have shown a remarkable growth of 81.76 percent and 61.31 percent respectively.

In all the categories staple fibre has shown a growth of 60 percent valued at Rs.26.87 crores.

The major item in staple fibre viz. of polyester staple fibre has increased by 132% and viscose staple fibre has also shown a growth of 38 percent. U.A.E., the largest market for Indian MMF textiles has shown a fall of 24 percent. USA, which witnessed a spectacular growth in 2004, has been showing a declining trend from the start of this year and in August 2005 it has declined by 31 percent.
