  • In the first week of the FY25, polyester and viscose yarn prices rose by ₹*-* per kg in India, influenced by better payment flows and easing concerns over new payment rules.
  • Polyester market benefitted from slow imported supplies, while PC yarn prices dropped due to lower natural fibre costs.
  • Markets in Ludhiana, Surat and Mumbai reported varied trends.

The polyester yarn market also found support from the slow arrival of imported supplies due to the implementation of the Quality Control Order (QCO). The market is expected to remain bullish, at least in the near future. However, polyester-cotton (PC) yarn noted a bearish tone because of the ease in natural fibre prices.

The Ludhiana market witnessed a price rise in polyester spun yarn, but the price of PC yarn decreased. Polyester spun yarn increased by &#****;*-* per kg. However, PC yarn eased by &#****;* per kg in the market. A trader from the Ludhiana market told Fibre2Fashion, “Buyers&#**; approach changed in the new fiscal. They have come for fresh buying. Easy liquidity also pushed up buying in polyester spun yarn. But PC yarn eased due to the weak trend in cotton prices.”
