Test criteria of Oeko-Tex Standard 100 updated

The International Oeko-Tex Association has as usual published the updated test criteria and limit values for product certification in accordance with Oeko-Tex Standard 100 at the beginning of the year.

As per an Oeko-Tex press release, the new regulations contained therein, come definitely into force on April 1, 2016 for all certifications, following a three-month transition period.

The Association has made supplements or changes to test parameters in perfluorinated compounds, organotin compounds, softeners/phthalates, pesticides, chlorinated phenols and chlorinated benzenes.

It has also made changes to test parameters in toluenes, colourants classified as carcinogenic and which are thus prohibited, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, alkylphenols and alkylphenol ethoxylates as well as flame-retardant substances

The new test parameter UV stabilisers was also included in Oeko-Tex product class IV, while all amendments and inclusions including a summary of chemical substances, CAS numbers, limit values can be seen on its website. (AR)
