The development is mainly due to the decrease in fuel prices, which increased in November 2021, and in electricity prices, with a larger decrease than last year. The increase in clothing and footwear prices due to the start of the new season also played a role, although to a lesser extent, which is more moderate than in 2021, the NSI said in a media release.
The estimated annual variation rate of underlying inflation increases one tenth, to 6.3 per cent. Consumer prices registered a rate of -0.1 per cent in November compared to October, according to the leading indicator of the CPI.
In November, the estimated annual variation rate of the harmonised consumer price index (HCPI) stood at 6.6 per cent, seven tenths less than the one registered in the previous month. For its part, the estimated monthly variation of the HCPI is -0.5 per cent.
