The 12th All India Crafts Fair coincides NRI meet Day

Under the aegis of The 12th All India Crafts Mela, a handicraft and handloom fair for artisans, art lovers including Non-Resident Indians is to be organised here.
It will be held from December 23 to January 10 to coincide with the Pravas Bharatiya Divas, a meet of the Overseas Indians and NRI's.
The Mela elevated to a national status event will be held at the Crafts village 'Shiparamam,' is thus recognised by the Union Textiles Ministry.
Andhra Pradesh Tourism Minister J Geeta Reddy said that over 630 artisans from all over the country would exhibit their exquisite handicraft and handloom products.
It was informed that in an effort to create awareness of folk art forms, festivals from the North Eastern states and Rajasthan would be depicted at the South Zone Cultural Centre, Tanjavur.
The achievements of the renowned Surajkund Mela in Haryana, was over shadowed by the Shilparamam sales, she said, adding that against last years sales of Rs 892 lakh, this year, a target of Rs 1,000 lakh was fixed.
