The Karnataka government is proposing to build six new textile parks at the cost of Rs 168 crores, said D S Vishwanath, Managing Director, Karnataka State Powerloom Development Corporation Ltd.
Addressing a conference on power loom industries in Bangalore, Vishwanath stated the new parks would be built at Anekal (Silk hi-tech weaving park), Kanakapura (textile park), Bellary (apparel park exclusively on jeans), Mysore (textile park) and Rabkavi, Bagalkot (hi-tech weaving park) and Belgaum (power loom) for which land acquisition is underway.
Speaking on the development of the Doddabalapur textile park, Vishwanath said, phase I was in final stage and phase II coming up.
