Textile products shows highest growth of 35.1% for May, reports MSPI

Alongwith the Quick Estimates of IIP for May 2005, the indices for April 2005 have undergone the first revision and those for February 2005, the second (final) revision in the light of the updated data received from the source agencies. There are no significant revisions in the indices for February 2005 and April 2005.

As per Use-based classification, the growth in May 2005 over May 2004 is 8.1% in Basic goods, 19.2% in Capital goods and 2.3% in Intermediate goods. The Consumer durables and Consumer non-durables have recorded growth of 19.5% and 18.7% respectively, with the overall growth in Consumer goods being 18.9%.

Quick Estimates of the Index of Industrial Production at Sectoral, 2-digit level of National Industrial Classification (NIC)-1987 and by Use-based classification for the month of May 2005, along with the growth rates over the corresponding month of previous year, including the cumulative indices and growth rates.
