Unfortunately, recent industry/client association meetings have confirmed this reality. However, we were pleased to note that there's also a strong desire to fight that nth battle to try to keep a leather-products manufacturing system in Italy, in Europe and in the West.
As President Gaia pointed out, there are, substantially, three reasons for the crisis: - the world competition rules; - the ineluctable Chinese reality; - the overvalued euro.
The "games" are under way. We're trying to provide economic/commercial competition rules that can be respected and are respected. We would want to defeat the social, environmental and economic dumping, and we hope to activate fair behavior that will all also be advantageous for the final consumer.
It's evident that we're facing an exceptionally serious situation. This is precisely why Assomac has ? one could say ? "doubled" its operational capacity. In fact, in addition to its normal routine activity, it also now provides additional activities handled by special departments.
