Not-for-profit jewelry trade association Jewelers Vigilance Committee (JVC) announced that William J. Jewelry Industry Panel discussion featuring JVC, JBT, ABN Amro Follows Keynote address.

FinCEN is the regulatory government agency that wrote and published the USA PATRIOT Act AML requirements for the jewelry industry. Mr. Fox will discuss the need for the jewelry industry to comply with anti-money laundering (AML) rules, the consequences of non-compliance and who is effected. He will take questions.

Directly following Mr. Fox's keynote session, there will be an industry panel discussion, featuring: Jewelers Vigilance Committee, Cecilia Gardner, JVC's executive director and general counsel; The Jewelers Board of Trade, Dione Kenyon, president; and ABN Amro, Anna Martin, senior vice president. The panel will address industry based compliance solutions. All businesses covered by the Act will have until January 1, 2006 to come into compliance.

Said Cecilia Gardner: "They are delighted Bill Fox, director, FinCEN, will be delivering the keynote address at JVC'sAML seminar. It is essential that jewelry business owners understand how to develop their AML programs if they are effected - AML compliance is obligatory. Mr. Fox's keynote address will include important information about AML requirements, and he will take your questions and comments."
