Indian plastic wares, textiles, spices, bicycles, two-wheelers, transport equipments, drugs and pharmaceuticals, chemicals, petroleum products and articles of daily use are in great demand.
D'jibouti exports animal hides and skins. There are good prospects for setting up of tanneries. All food items are imported as its own agricultural products are negligible.
Indians are highly regarded in D'jibouti. Its higher authorities and the Embassy in New Delhi have assured of their support for ASSOCHAM to organize an Indian Exhibition in D'jibouti from 9–12 January 2008.
It is a fresh market with lots of opportunities for Indian exporters and investors. We have been able to persuade the authorities there to offer us the country's best venue and its facilities for our exhibitors.
“Registration Form” is sent herewith. Those interested in participation in the Exhibition are requested to fill in the form and return it with a DD/Cheque of Rs. 20,000/- for a nine square metres' stall, in favour of “ASSOCHAM” New Delhi.
More space can be booked in the multitudes of nine square metres. Those Exhibitors who wish to take their exhibits by sea should make sure, in consultation with their shipping agents, that the exhibits arrive D'jibouti seaport before 1st January 2008.
Air bookings for participants, passengers and freight can be routed through:
1) Delhi – Mumbai – Sana'a – D'jibouti
2) Delhi – Mumbai – Jeddah – D'jibouti(Or via Addis Ababa or Dubai or Doha)
Ethiopean Airlines has 5 days a week flights from Delhi and Mumbai upto Addis Ababa and D'jibouti. The bookings are required to be made weeks in advance.
Participants are requested to send in their registration forms with fees for exhibition space required, before 15th December 2007. ASSOCHAM would be pleased to recommend to the Embassy of D'jibouti in New Delhi for issue of visas to the exhibitors.
