Mr. Bartholomew as Finance Manager & CFO for IDB

The Inter-American Development Bank announced the appointment of Edward Bartholomew as Finance Manager and Chief Financial Officer, effective February 1st for a three- year term.

Bartholomew will be responsible for the mobilization and administration of the IDB financial resources, both the assets and liabilities, and for the management of the Bank's liquidity, accounting and financial records, and the relations with financial markets and intermediaries.

Bartholomew brings to the IDB more than 20 years of experience in the international financial markets. Currently he is the Managing Director for Sovereign Liability Management at J.P. Morgan based in New York City, where he provided debt advisory and capital markets execution services for emerging markets governments globally. In a previous role, he led the development of the Emerging Markets Bond Index.

A U.S. citizen, he holds a Bachelor's degree in Science in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering and a Master's in Business Administration, both from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York. He also completed the coursework for a doctorate in Finance while at Cornell.

The IDB is the leading source of multilateral financing for Latin America and the Caribbean. The IDB Group also comprises the Inter-American Investment Corporation, which focuses on small and medium-sized companies and the Multilateral Investment Fund, which supports small and medium-sized businesses and microfinance.
