HPHT conditions can be in excess of 2000°C and 60,000 atmospheres. HPHT Diamonds are created by simulating the actual geological conditions in the lab.
A small nucleus, that provides the core of the diamond, is placed on a surface of carbon and extreme pressures and temperatures are applied. The carbon then forms into a diamond crystal.
