Goody's to invite shoppers for Kingsport Store grand opening on Aug 4

Sporting goods retailer Goody's Family Clothing Inc is offering a fresh, convenient way to shop with the grand opening of its newly relocated Kingsport location on Thursday, August 4, 2005.
The new Kingsport Goody's will join East Stone Commons on North Eastman Road. Local dignitaries and executives from Goody's corporate office in Knoxville, Tenn. will commemorate the grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Shoppers are invited to celebrate the grand opening festivities at 9 a.m.
The first 300 customers will receive a goody bag with five lucky customers receiving a bag including a $100 giftcard. Throughout the grand opening weekend, shoppers will also have the opportunity to register to win an assortment of prizes including a $500 giftcard and family vacations.
The new 30,000-square-feet store will include elements of the “new store” design, which is being implemented in stores throughout the chain. This shopper-friendly concept features wider aisles and easy-to-read department signage.
“Goody's is committed to providing a first-rate shopping experience for our Kingsport customers,” said Goody's Chairman and CEO Bob Goodfriend. “This new location and updated store design will enable us to offer a greater selection of merchandise in a more customer-friendly environment.”
According to store manager Pat Price, the new store features a slightly larger misses department and will be centrally located within one of Kingsport's premier shopping districts. “Customers are definitely going to notice the changes throughout the store; we're excited about all of the improvements,” she said.
