Successful "High-Tex from Germany" presentation in Mumbai from 10th to 12th October 2007. A blue snow fence can indeed have prêt-à-porter qualities. Although what caused a sensation recently in India is only one of the small stories surrounding "High-Tex from Germany" presentation it nevertheless describes the challenge facing the industry: the numerous areas in which technical textiles are now used.
These areas are now so diverse that even those who know the industry well are frequently amazed. At "High-Tex from Germany", which took place within the framework of the first "Techtextil India", 54 German companies and 57 international manufacturers showcased the areas of application for technical textiles for around 16,700 international trade visitors.
The presentation focused not only on the function of technical textiles but also on the development and research being carried out in this area.
At symposiums held during the fair, representatives of well-known German textile research institutes reported on important advances in product and process development and the testing and certification options that are available. The environment-friendly recycling of nonwovens was also one of the main topics.
The concept of "High-Tex from Germany", which was developed by the Confederation of the German Textile and Fashion Industry and supported by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) in co-operation with the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA), was a complete success.
