Centre for Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries (CBI), a Netherland Government agency, which supports export initiatives of small and medium enterprises in the developing countries, recently signed an agreement with Vietnam Trade Promotion Center (under MOT) and Hanoi Department of Trade to kick off a program helping local enterprises to sell home textile goods to EU markets.
Officials from Promotion Center said that selected enterprises in the program would enjoy various benefits through years, including advises at site, training for speciality, improving management capacity in production and product – quality, providing with market informationand many more.
CBI has cooperated with Vietnam for years, however, support for the textile sector is new.
"In spite of a new sector for CBI, we are very confident that with our rich experience and wide network, we could have success in connecting the good enterprises of your country with the EU consumers", Arne Heutink, Director of the program said at a press meet.
"With support and sponsor of CBI, Vietnamese enterprises will be encouraged to participate several big international trade fairs, such as Ambiente, Heimtextil and other similar ones. At these events, the enterprises will not only have direct contact and discussion with the potential partners, but also learn more experience in international market”, added the program Director.
However, the enterprises desiring to this program, should not be part of a joint venture with any developed country based company. Firms must have 25 to 500 employees and need to follow strict regulations of EU market.
