On April 15, 1997, Yang brought back home several bags containing 'plus size' clothes.
Sadly, she ended the next three months, without selling a single piece of garment.
This prompted her to make a detour to the owner of the shop at Langfang, again.
Breaking in to conversation the shop's boss quizzed her, “Where have you opened the shop?”
“In Daxing,” Yang's replied to dismiss the boss's stern look.
He informed Yang that 'fat' must be facing difficulty reaching her shopas they felt self-humiliated seldom went to shops on their own. Having learned this, Yang returned to Daxing and got more that ten thousand visiting cards, clearly mentioning 'plus size' garments attracting their attention at the bottom.
Yang discovered that obese women happily received the cards and carefully saved them in their vanity bags and purses. In May 1998, Yang's shop saw steady flow of customers lining up her shop to try the 'plus size' garments.
In 1999, there was no special 'plus size' garment shop in China that Yang sourged through Chinese markets, only to return with increasing demand by the day at her shop, with demand for them unabated.
She also found that fat people wanted to wear good fitting clothes and look beautiful. So Yang took up the challenge at providing such a service of making obese ladies look fashionable.
Next, Yang found a garment maker in Beijing with whom she reached an agreement in 2003. Since then, Yang's desire of bringing vogue elements into 'plus size' garments is at last coming true, as also filling the market blank for satiating obese ladies' desire for appropriate fashion.
Now, Yang has formed a special company to operate plus size wear, with over 200 shops all over China.
Thus, Yang is now well entrenched in serving 'special' customers in effect leading to setting up a 20 million Yuan worth exclusive plus size empire, all by herself.
