Urging the Jute growers of the Northeast region, Shri Vaghela said the farmers should not do the cultivation and production of Jute as a routine farming but they should do Jute cultivation on the basis of modern methods and technology as a main source of their earning. He added that the Jute growers should do the cultivation with value addition and diversification to make their presence in the competitive market.

Shri Vaghela is on a two day visit of Assam to address a Seminar-cum-workshop on Non-Bengal jute growing areas for the benefit of jute growers in Kharupetia, Darrang. The Seminar was organised by the Jute Corporation of India (JCI), in which the JCI interacted with the jute growers of the region. It was attended by more than 250 Jute growers and the people connected with the Jute cultivation. The Seminar had deliberations on modern techniques of retting and marketing of raw, improved methods of jute cultivation and better ways of Jute marketing goods.
