China Textile Import and Export Chamber warns to Chinese companies urging them to cease exports of six groups of textile items to the US, as they are in danger of filling their permitted quotas prematurely.
This is the second time that the Chamber has been forced to issue alerts to companies over their export levels.
The US Committee for the Implementation of Textile Agreements announced a 7.5 per cent limit on the annual rise of imports of Chinese cotton shirts, trousers and man-made fibre underwear two months ago.
The Chamber says that export quotas of Chinese manmade fibre trousers have already been nearly used up.
According to the Chamber, more than 10,000 Chinese textile companies are being affected by the restrictions implemented by the US, with over 60 per cent of these being seriously affected by them.
China has lashed out at the US's restrictive measures, arguing that they are unnecessary and unjustifiable.
