Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh recently stressed on the principle of ‘harmonising benefits, sharing risks’ and ensuring the country’s core interests in trade talks with the United States.

He was presiding over a meeting of permanent government members in Hanoi to review the outcome of the second round of negotiations on a bilateral agreement with the United States on reciprocal trade held in Washington D.C. from May 19 to 22.

Future tasks must help consolidate and strengthen the Vietnam-US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, offering benefits to both countries and their consumers, and contributing to peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world, domestic media outlets reported citing the Prime Minister.

He called for effective plans and measures to continue talks and strive to declare the conclusion of negotiations as soon as possible.
