While consumer sentiment posted a mild increase of 0.3 per cent, lifting the index to 85.1, the gains were tempered by declines in other sectors. The real sector confidence index, representing the manufacturing industry, slipped by 0.2 per cent to 98.4.
Retail trade confidence saw the sharpest decline, falling 2.5 per cent to 108.5, a Turkstat release said.
The consumer confidence index, which is not seasonally adjusted, maintained its upward trend, though at a slower pace than in May.
