A new line of industrial grade heat transfer bonders that can improve productivity by 50% and ensure precision placement of the heat transfers has been introduced by Avery Dennison Retail Information Services.

Heat transfers are tagless labels that can carry a combination of product identification, brand identification and care instructions on apparel and footwear components. Supplied in roll-form or as singles, heat transfers are available in all process and PANTONE colors.

ComfortTag heat transfers, the tagless label offering from Avery Dennison RIS, have been proven to retain their color and print integrity through 50 washings, per the American Association of Textile Chemists & Colorists (AATCC) test Method 61 procedure.

Bonding a heat transfer to a garment requires the precise employment of three elements: heat, pressure and dwell time. Avery Dennison RIS' new line includes a high-speed roll-fed bonder and two singles bonders. All three bonders offer adjustable controls to regulate critical heat, time and pressure parameters. In addition, they are easy to use, feature rugged construction and are designed for reliable operation.

According to Mark Hansinger, Avery Dennison RIS Worldwide Director of Marketing - Heat Transfer Labels - the launch of the roll-fed bonder has significant market implications.

“We are seeing a shift from conventional singles heat transfer bonders to high-speed roll-fed bonders, especially among apparel manufacturing contractors with high volume requirements,” Hansinger says. “Roll-fed delivers up to twice the productivity of singles bonders.”
