“This includes more efficient use of operator time. In an industry where cycles-per-minute can mean a critical increase in speed to market, the roll-fed bonders are rapidly becoming the preferred application process for manufacturers who supply to large brand owners and retailers.”

Hansinger says that the roll-fed bonder's productivity advantages are only part of the story. Precision placement of the labels is also key. “If a heat transfer label is improperly placed, the whole garment could be ruined,” Hansinger says. “This makes precision placement an essential function for a bonder. The new Avery Dennison bonders deliver placement to within +/- 1mm.”

The roll-fed bonder can accurately apply over 600 ComfortTag heat transfer labels per hour. In operation, the user positions an item to be labeled and then activates the bonder by simultaneously pressing two buttons spaced 12 inches apart to ensure operator safety. The bonders accurately apply heat transfers to the targeted area.

The new bonders apply heat transfers to T-shirts, underwear, bras, athleticwear tops, bottoms, socks and more in a range of fabrics that includes cotton, polyester, nylon and silk, and to footwear components, such as athletic shoe innersoles.

Avery Dennison backs the heat transfer bonders with dedicated global support service teams, a toll-free number for system maintenance and a parts replacement program, as well as on-site assistance and on-site training for locations worldwide, including remote regions.
