"We are not saying we are superior than other fashion weeks of the world. But we are proud that we are now the fourth biggest fashion week in the world (behind Paris, Milan and New York)," said Lock.
According to Brandusa Niro, Chief Editor of leading daily, Sydney's five-day episode, which also showcases youthful designers from around Asia and the Pacific, is amid the pinnacle of catwalk fairs in the world.
Sydney just feels the fashion, being the fifth, if not the fourth and in many ways it's stronger than London, " told Niro.

Wholesale orders for 2005 from fashion week were in the vicinity of A$50 to 60 million (US$37.8-45.4 million.
According to Lock they are certain of improving on this figure this year because of the increased number of buyers and collections at the episode.
"Maybe 10 to 15 percent on top of that (US$50-60 million) figure, that would be our hope," he said.
