  • India's manmade yarn market is poised for higher demand with the onset of the wedding season, though post-Diwali sluggishness persists. Polyester and PC yarn prices remained steady in Ludhiana and Surat, while viscose yarn rose in Mumbai but softened in Surat. Traders expect improved buying once workers return and production normalizes.

Market sources said there was expectation of improved lifting of manmade yarn in the coming weeks as the wedding season gathers pace. However, markets are yet to see normal trading activity after Diwali, and full recovery is expected next week.

Ludhiana market recorded thin trade in polyester and PC yarn as production activities remained slow. Prices were largely unchanged. A trader from Ludhiana told Fibre*Fashion, “Workers are yet to return from their hometowns. Therefore, production activities remain slow in the downstream industry. PC and polyester yarn demand may improve once production returns to normal levels.”
